Phillippa's Bakery and Provisions Store opened at 1030 High Street, Armadale in May 1994. Our aim is to offer for sale products that are no longer made in the home, keeping alive the art of pastry, bread and preserve-making, using the best seasonal ingredients available. The shop is a local provisions store that customers can visit daily to buy their bread, cheese, eggs, biscuits and olives. They can also enjoy a pastry and a coffee at one of the four inside tables (or five outside).Nestled in among antique dealers, art galleries and designer shops, the store has a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Staff encourage customers to try new products and discuss recipe ideas.
Much of the produce on the shelves is made in the kitchen behind the shop and varies according to what is in season. Driven by fresh, clean flavours, we use seasonal ingredients and traditional production methods.
Our team literally works around the clock. Bakers begin at 5pm and work through the night. Pastry cooks and chefs then arrive and work through the day, assembling lemon curd tarts, decanting relishes into jars and dipping truffles.
